An air conditioning service with TVE on most vehicles manufactured prior to 2017 costs £65+VAT, this service is for vehicles which run on R134A gas.
We are also able to offer A/C services on vehicles registered after 2017, which run on HFO-1234YF gas for £110+VAT.

As of 2017 the air conditioning gas used in vehicles has changed. All vehicles prior to 2017 used a gas known as R134a. As of 2017 a new type of gas, HFO-1234yf, is required by law for all new vehicles. We are able to service A/C systems for both types of gasses on vehicles of all ages. The new gas produces 98% fewer climate-damaging pollutants so is a great step forward for the motor industry.
Your vehicles air conditioning is charged up with gas, which over time dissipates from the system. Around 10% of the gas is lost each year preventing the air conditioning from performing to its full potential. It is advised that the air conditioning system is checked in your vehicle a minimum of every 2 years. The A/C service is not included as part of your regular car service so if your car is over 2 years old, it may be due to a re-charge.
It is a common myth that air conditioning should only be used in the Summer months. You should run your air conditioning periodically, even in the winter. The dehumidified dry air produced by your air-con can clear a windscreen much quicker than warm air.
Over time condensation builds up on the evaporator and becomes a breeding ground for bacteria and fungi. If your A/C doesn’t smell as fresh as it once did, this is the reason. TVE can complete an Antibacterial clean of our vehicles A/C system and interior for only £24.99
An Air Conditioning service can normally be done while you wait and takes around an hour, We recommend adding this as part of an annual car servicing routine. Don’t leave it until a hot summer’s day to find out it’s not working!
We tailor your air conditioning service to your requirements and the issues that you are having with your system.
We pressure test all A/C systems with nitrogen prior to filling an empty system. Nitrogen is an inert gas which is less harmful to the environment as it makes up 78% of our atmosphere. This pressure test allows us to search for any leaks within the system and repair them accordingly. If there is a leak we will aim to locate the leak and report with full costings of any repairs required.
If no pressure loss is present at the time of test we will then continue to recharge the system with the correct amount of refrigerant, we will also add a special UV dye so if there are any further issues with loss of gas it can be traced using a UV light.
A vehicle may have a correct gas pressure but there are other faults causing the A/C to stop working. We test the system to find your fault and report back to you with costings for any repairs needed.
